Guildhall, Derry.

The stained-glass windows in the Guildhall were paid for by the livery companies of the City of London in 1908. These included many of the twelve originally involved in the Plantation of the City. The livery companies originally developed from medieval trade guilds and were responsible for the regulation of their trades. Each company is represented by the coat of arms and emblems representing its trade.

The origianl companies were Clothworkers, Drapers, Fishmongers, Goldsmiths, Grocers, Haberdashers, Ironmongers, Mercers, Merchant Taylors, Salters, Skinners and Vintners.
